Slow down Isaac

I filmed this video of Isaac on Sunday, needless to say he requires no flashy objects to convince him to crawl- this kid is a mad man.  This morning while enjoying my cereal I was watching Isaac play in the family room by the time I finished my breakfast he had crawled down our hall, paused to inspect the trash can, and made his way into my bedroom.  After I retrieved my son and returned him to all his toys in the family room he crawled under the desk and promptly started to unplug cords.  I sure love my handsome little Isaac with his tussled comb over, giggles, big eyes, and smile with his little tongue coming out.

Crowe Family

Here is the last set of family pictures that I took before Christmas.  I sure love the Crowe's- their beautiful smiles, their gorgeous girl, and it didn't hurt that they fed me the words best dinner after we took pictures

Raise the Roof

This week we had our roof replaced.  Hooray, it has needed some tender loving care for years now.  For instance in one area it looked like a possum/ bear/ raccoon/ clawed at it for a while.

Anyhow, Isaac and I have been very interested in the re-roofing process- taking off the roof, replacing the bad wood, delivering the material, and putting the new roof on.  However the thing that has fascinated me the most is the skill and hard work of the men on my roof.  Roofing is clearly not easy, light, or ergonomically friendly work.  However, these Latino men (some over 60) took such pride in their work that it gave me a great respect for labors and taught me a valuable lesson.  Their is nobility in working hard, doing a good job, being a finisher, regardless of your career or education.
