Sneak Peak

For all those supporting my fix up the studio effort here are some pictures of my paint job!

Moving

Is there anything worse than moving- no, no, nothing worse I submit. Not only is moving extremely emotional, but it is so much work. We only had a one bedroom apartment and the only furniture to our names is a dresser, a table, 4 chairs, and a foot rest, yet I assure you it was still torture to box everything up, play the puzzle game in loading the cars, and then clean up the apartment.

Beginning a bit inexperienced in the packing department, we have earned ribbons of honor for our sweet packing job and we both could totally see out the windows! Many thanks to my wonderful father for letting us drive his truck to haul our belongings, he is the best. I must admit I felt a small amount like a Beverly Hillbilly with both our Corolla and the truck exploding with everything we own to our names, I should have tied some cans on the outside of the car going from the country to the big city.

Enoch and I are crazy, we always think we can do everything, and so our last day of work was the day we left. Anyhow, we managed to visit our friends and family, paint our furniture, and pack everything the last week in Utah.

Finally, the last great accomplishment is that I drove for the first time longer than one hour. I have never driven on a road trip and have taken quite a liking to the idea of reclining, sleeping, eating, watch movies etc – you know all the glory in being a passenger. So I was thrust into a new role and have now conquered successfully my first trip from Utah to California, not to mention I had to drive through LA (how is that for beginners.)

I guess this is Goodbye Old Friend, You've Been a Perfect Friend

I have lived the past 19 years of my life in Utah and I am a bit emotional in moving to California, no less to one of the biggest cities. Even as I write this post I am flooded with wonderful memories. Memories of my parents house and wonderful yard, BYU campus, the mountains, the beauty of four seasons, the smell of the air, the roads I know so well, family events, the friendly faces I have grown so close to, and so much more. I cannot express adequate appreciation to all those I have crossed path with shaping my heart and who I am. Utah is a substantial part of who I am and for that I am very grateful. So instead of goodbye, I choose to think See Ya Soon

Cornerstone Apartment #3

After a long, frustrating search in fighting for an apartment among all of the BYU students getting married over Christmas break, we ended up with the first apartment we called that hadn't already been taken. We had a few requirements- close to campus, preferably furnished as we knew we would be moving shortly, and under $600 a month. Now for the quirks of our tiny wonder. The previous tenants were an older Puruvain couple and thus the smell when we moved it I liked to refer as the fiesta scent, our toilet only flushes with great coxing after the handle is forced down for 5 seconds and their are a million bookcases and no drawers, and we loving refer to our bed as a hammock due to the extreme slop inward, but you can't beat covered parking and a new couch. Anyhow for the past 8 months we have called our very glamorous, tiny studio apartment home. So before we began packing up I wanted to take some pictures for posterity.
